I have really enjoyed using this watch for my running. The features are very easy to navigate through and easy to use. I was looking for a watch that would measure how far I ran and not spend a arm and a leg for it. This watch was what I was looking for. The only draw back was getting the perfect stride distances for my walk and run. It took a few days but it is as close as it going to get. I would recommend this product to all if you are looking for a watch to tell your distance and speed.

I puchased this watch and a couple days later i got an e-mail saying that the price that was listed when i bought it was not correct becasue of a mistake that the seller had made. they canceld my order and now i have to pay 86 dollars more then the price that was listed if i want this watch. dont buy from thease guys.
Excellent product especially considering the price. It performs exactly as advertised and as expected. So far it’s proven “waterproof” to 12′ several times for 10-30 minutes each time which is more than it’s rated for (they say “water resistant” to 10 meters). The main reason I bought it was for the barometric pressure and last 48 hr. graph to predict potential storms when out kayaking. So far (2 months), it’s performed great.
This watch is phenomenal – especially considering the price. I would compare the quality of the Tech4O to those by Suunto, and easily given the price. Every feature of this watch works well and it’s extremely well-built. It’s a Swiss Army knife of watches and it’s extremely accurate. I bought it for mountaineering but soon found that it works well as a regular watch (though a little bulky). I like to reference my altitude, distance and other features even as I go about my day. -Just nice to know. If you’re looking for a great watch that has a ton of features, this is it. The altimeter is very accurate as long as you initialize it with a reference altitude prior to your climb/hike. The face does not fog at altitude. I have not found the forecast feature to be accurate most of the time, but who forecasts the weather accurately anyway? The temperature feature is relatively useless due to bodyheat and the fact that you may often have your hands in your pockets, gloves, etc., but that’s normal for all these watches. If you get this watch for mountaineering or hiking, you WON’T be disappointed. This is a great value.
I also own a Suunto Vector and BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT: This watch kicks my other one’s butt… The assorted features, set up and aesthetics are second to none. This watch is also TOUGH. I am deployed, and this watch has stood up to every raid and patrol with no issues to date. If you want a watch that is both rugged and functional give this one a good hard look. It’s price tag makes it a no brainer.
Have only had my watch for about a month, but am very satisfied so far. Band is comfortable but if it ever broke, it looks like it would have to be sent back to factory for replacement. Battery is easy replacement. Setup, as well as use, was almost intuitive, but do need the instructions for some functions setup. After measuring my pace and putting it in the watch, found the pedometer to be accurate to plus or minus .04 to.06 mile, depending upon how fast I am walking or how long my step is. The watch is comfortable, nice looking and although a big watch, not too big for my wrist. Altimeter seems to be as accurate as any barometric pressure meters that I have used. Compass certainly finds the general directions, but, as with most wristwatch compasses, is a little difficult to run a course with close accuracy, especially without taking it off. As with any wristwatch thermometer, you need to take it off for a few minutes to let it come to ambient temperature and then it is accurate. It actually has more functions than I need. Don’t know why I would ever need dual alarms. I have hearing loss in the pitch of the alarm, so can’t hear them, anyway…
I am currently on my third watch of this exact brand. My use has mostly been for swimming but also some daily use. The first watch lasted 4 years until the strap started breaking up. During this time I only had to replace the battery once and it ran perfectly. Thus when I needed a replacement I ordered a new one. This one started leaking after one week and then broke down. I have just started using my third watch and so far it runs ok (one week).
I keep on buying this watch because it is the best one I have been able to find for my purpose. It is light and sleek and does not give too much water resistance when swimming. Also, it is inexpensive so I am willing to take the chance of getting a non-working one. Thus if you get this watch you must realize that it is a gamble if it will work at all when used for swimming. If it works, then the strap will eventually disintegrate (and cannot be replaced). How long time this takes depends on how much you use it.
For the price, a very solid sports watch. Easy to use and read, and very durable. I would buy it again.
I bought this watch 22 months ago, wore it daily 24/7. The functionality of the watch was all as advertised. It kept accurate time throughout the bands lifetime. Yes the bands lifetime which is shorter than the still going strong battery of this timepeace. Once the band breaks your only alternative is to send it in to Timex for replacement, for at least to my knowledge it cant be found in retail. Is it really worth the cost and effort to send a $40.00 watch back to the mftr. to replace a watch band? I think not. Most likely by time the watch is returned by Timex after having replaced the band the battery will have died and need replacement as well. So, with that rationalization, throw in a few additional bucks over the cost of band replacement/new battery and get a new watch altogether. I’m sure the folks at Timex are thinking along the same line. To be fare, I liked the watch and would had been happy to hang on to it for another year or so if not more. I gave it 2 stars, one star for each year of the watchbands longevity.
