The 400 calorie meal is one of the easiest and simplest ways to lose weight. For inactive people, do 3 meals at 400 calories each. For more active individuals, 4 meals at 400 calories each.
Using a calorie counter can really help with choosing a wide variety of food for each meal.
You can look up all kinds of food including fast foods, although fast food would be the wrong choice if you are trying to lose weight – you won’t get as much food for the calories.

The product works good, I like being able to see calories burned VS food intake.
I just wish the web site was a litte more comprehensive, and that there was a read out on the band. There are better calorie counting websites on the web for free. Also, I don’t want to spend another $99.00 for a read out.
Because I don’t have the wrist read out, I am always a day behind on viewing my calorie intake VS burn.
Bought for my wife for Xmas at her request, but she likes it and still uses it a month later so I guess it has good legs. Monthly subscription to the site is a bit overpriced for what you get and honestly for the price you pay you should get the watch with the armband. So I knocked off a star for price.
I purchased the GoWear Fit during a trip to the US, but I normally live abroad. The problem is that the on-line system for tracking calories and fitness goals ONLY ALLOWS for US and Canada billing addresses and credit cards. This seems really unnecessary and simple to solve, since the product can be used by anyone in the world, but when contacted customer care, they did NOT OFFER ANY ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION. All they said was that it could not be used by people who live outside of the US and Canada. WOW.
I too am allergic to nickel and hence can’t wear the display device for more than 30 seconds without my skin reacting. The materials are mislabeled. This is a health product and nickel is a common skin allergen – the makers should be more conscientious. The device miscalculates activities such as rowing, spinning, cycling, even the elliptical. If you aren’t walking, running, jumping rope (feet striking the ground) the device doesn’t seem to register the movement in the same way. The device is supposed to measure more than a pedometer (e.g. body heat fluctuations, etc.) but doesn’t do so well at measuring those. Most of the work gets entered/corrected in the on line portion.
I’ve reverted back to using a free on line calorie counter for food intake and exercise along with my heart rate monitor.
This product is a good idea (along with body bugg and the slew of other such gadgets) but I think I’ll wait til there is a 3rd or 4th generation of these that can actually measure more acurately based on heat, the chemical comp of sweat, carbon dioxide, etc. released from through skin.
Skip this product.
This was purchased as a gift and now I find that it is not being used. No instructions came with it, and it was a good deal of trouble contacting the company for help. Finally an understanding of the product was reached but also the realization that there is a fairly large charge for internet support which is needed for use of the GoWear.
I really like this book. I am on a diet and counting calories. This book has everything you would need to know the calorie count for.
