Located in Niceville, FL--just across the bridge from Destin and a short drive from Eglin Air Force Base, CrossFit Emerald Coast is not your ordinary gym. We don't have acres of shiny isolation exercise equipment, thousands of dollars worth of treadmills and elliptical machines (complete with their LCD screens or magazine racks), wall to wall mirrors, or a smoothie bar.


What we do offer is the most effective workout program possible! We are serious about real fitness. Our equipment is simple, extremely functional, and has application to daily life regardless of your occupation. Furthermore, our workouts typically last less than 25 minutes and are exceedingly more effective than spending hours doing isolation movements or trudging away on a treadmill. In fact, you will typically warm up, workout, cool down, and be on your way in less than 60 minutes! In as few as 2 sessions per week, you will quickly observe significant and quantifiable results in your fitness levels--even if you thought you were in 'good shape' when you started!


At CrossFit Emerald Coast, you will be trained by a certified personal trainer in either private sessions or in a small group during our regularly scheduled classes. No longer do you need to worry about planning your workout--we assign the WOD (Workout of the Day) to you when you arrive and help you perform it safely and effectively.


We understand you may feel intimidated about training with us--don't worry! Even though the WOD may look difficult or nearly impossible to the mere mortal, every workout is scalable to your abilities. We all have a starting place. In fact, it is not uncommon to have a 16 year old football player, a 26 year old service member, a 36 year old accountant, and a 67 year-old retiree in a class doing the exact same workout together! If you have any questions or concerns, our trainers are very experience in helping you properly and safely scale your workout.     There is a lot of very thorough eating and health information in this book. I believe everyone should read it whether they need to lose weight or not. He has hit the nail on the head here. A very smart doctor who knows his stuff when it comes to nutrition. Thank you Dr. Perricone.

    It’s not that simple, or original. The cost of the supplements, which are the mainstay of the program, made the program prohibitive if I wanted the claimed results. I was very disappointed.

    I purchased this book because I tried everything to get rid of that stubborn fat I had on my belly and top of my hips and my back. I tried several other diets but they did not work for me. I am not overweight but have a slowing metabolism (I think) as I am coming up to 40 and have those problem areas. I wanted to lose 10-15 pounds for summer. I have to say, I am on day 7 of the diet and it DOES work for weight/fat loss. I have already notcied a nice reduction of belly fat and my pants are very loose. I don’t think it has done a lot for the back fat (?) but that is hard to gauge. I have not noticed any change/benefits to my skin though as the book/diet implied. So, all in all IT REALLY WORKS. The CONS. It is a REALLY hard diet for me to follow. I do not love fish and it is heavy on fish (especially wild salmon). I also do not like a ton of veggies and the ones I do like are the ones you have to avoid (potatoes, corn). I also am having a heck of a time trading in my diet pop (even the ones with Sucralose) for green tea (gag). The diet is also VERY restrictive on carbs. I love carbs (all kinds of breads, pastas) and these are a no-no. Even whole grain ones are a no-go on this diet. : ( I am also missing my best fried- sugar (that is probably why I needed the diet in the first place though). BUT one good thing is that after days without sugar, many things (like plain yogurt with fresh fruit on top) tasted so much sweeter! Because of everything I have had to give up, the diet is leaving me pretty cranky and craving a lot of stuff. I vowed to give it a week and reevaluate. At this point, I think I am going to stay on it but do 6 days on 1 day off then repeat. The day off will hopefully let me get the cravings off my mind and keep me in the game until the cheat day comes again! The other con about the book is that it gives you a diet and recipes for 15 days. What I wish it did was give you alternates. There are several of his recipes and snacks that I do not like and I just switched them myself with ones from other days, BUT I think there could be many more combinations not listed that would fit in the diet perfectly fine. I just wish he would have put more time into the actual diet and recipe portion of the book!!! Soooo, if you want to lose weight- this diet book WILL DELIVER. Just be prepared (if you are like me) to be a *itch while you are losing that weight!

    If you have reached the point where you are serious, where you have determination and conviction, to follow any diet program… then Diet Power is the very best I have found. I find that when I use it regularly as a powerful guide to keep me on track and focused, it works like nothing else.

    The nutrients / vitamins / minerals tracking is wonderful. Talk about help to get on and stay on a WELL BALANCED diet! This part of the program alone is a powerful tool. I find that I get sick less often when I use it and pick those foods where I fall short (as well as cutting those foods where I over-do).

    The graphs are great for seeing progress (or lack of it). Overall this is a motivating program to help stay on track IF you use it.

    I do not input any exercise, I figure any exercises I am doing is “extra credit” (I go in streaks with activities) and it’ll show in my resulting weight loss / health without entering them in the program… but to record my exercise and thus have the program allow me more calories for that day (because I burnt some in the exercise, and if recorded in the program, my daily calorie allowance is increased to reflect those I spent in the exercises.. if that makes sense to you lol), well that has not been productive for me, the last thing I need is to think that I can eat more if I spend a 1/2 hour on the treadmill, I like seeing continual progress and not logging my exercises actually helps me to stay motivated. I don’t feel down on those days when I don’t exercise. I figure why put myself in a situation where I may feel that I have failed in any given day just because I didn’t do it “all”. I use the program just for diet and nutrition.

    The only part that can take more time than I like, is entering in my own recipes so program will record the nutrient values and portions properly for that recipe. I like to try new foods, so I find myself punching in “recipes” a lot, and those creations I make on the fly as I’m cooking… But I do take the time because if I stay true to the program then I know I’m as healthy as I can be and I feel it. Diet Power is a fantastic tool, but remember, books/dvd’s/programs don’t lose weight, people lose weight… with determination and conviction you will do well and Diet Power can help you greatly :o ) Good Luck!!!

    I love this program! I have also used FitDay which is a very good program, but not as good as Diet Power. Diet Power has the Water Minder and Nutrition Quotient which are great! The Diet Power website also has some great help files, but I didn’t need very many because the program is pretty self-explanatory.

    I have lost almost 40 pounds in 6 months, but I also plan on using this program after I meet my goal so that I can learn what I need to do to maintain my weight and eat and exercise properly. It only takes about a total of 5 minutes a day to enter your food intake and exercise, so I don’t think that is too much to ask for having a healthy weight.

    This is a great program. I’ve lost 32lbs so far. (I’ve actually created this system where if I go on a negative bank balance I give someone $1.50 per each day I’m in the negative. This has really motivated me to lose weight). At first I wanted to disable the Nutrition Quotient feature but now I’ve come to really appreciate it. Although the interface could be easier to use, (it seems like it could use an upgrade) overall, it works, and that’s the bottom line. Highly recommended! (I should mention that I have tried about three other weight loss software programs/web sites, and none of them worked as well as this one did).

    I downloaded the trial version because they said on their website that it worked with the Weight Watcher’s diet and many other diets. When you fill in your profile, it has a place to mark which diet you are using, but that is about as far as that goes. There is no way to add point values to food, therefore no way to track your points. So it was useless for my particular needs.

    However, out of all the programs I have tried, it was the easiest to start using. They have easy to follow videos on their website to help you get started. I also liked that it tells you when you are low or high in a certain nutrient (compared to the RDA). It would have helped track my chronically low magnesium, iron, and vitamin A.

    If you want software to track your calorie and nutrient intake and suggest your daily calorie budget, I think this would work really well. It does not, however, do all they suggest.

    I have been using Diet Power on and off for the last 3 years. The first time I used it I dropped 50 pounds in about 6 months but it was NOT EASY. It takes discipline and lots of working out. I am not by nature a disciplined person, so it took some getting used to. Truth be told, I gained it all back because I stopped using Diet Power and got into old habits. I am now working on losing it again, and am down 15 pounds over three weeks.

    Diet Power does not do the work for you, and the information you get from it is only as good as the information you provide. It calculates your Metabolic Rate (which is also the number of calories you must consume to maintain your current weight). It then provides you with a calorie budget that is well below your metabolic rate. As long as you log your food faithfully and honestly and stay within your calorie budget YOU WILL LOSE weight. It is based on scientific fact.

    I will admit the program takes some getting used to, and if you plan to use it seriously, invest in a food scale, because you need to be very precise. What I like about it is that it doesn’t judge and it doesn’t restrict any food.

    While in a sense you can “Eat anything you want” you do need to stay within your daily calorie budget. You will quickly realize however that while you CAN eat ice cream for example, if you do, you will use up your calorie budget VERY fast. But if you have a sweet tooth and cant live without a scoop of Ice Cream, GO FOR IT! It won’t kill you and as long as you stay within your budget, again, YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT!

    Its not a miracle. Its not a gimmick. Diet Power works, but you have to do the heavy lifting.

    I thought I would post this info that took me hours to find at Universal Drugstore dot com.

    A doctor recommended I try Alli rather than an appetite supressant (I had requested an FDA approved prescription rather than risk ill effects of over the counter or those found online with possible origins in Asia) that speeds heart/raises BP. The good thing about Alli is that doubling the standard dose is the equivalent of the $400 drug, Xenical. Same results. Same medication.

    However, I generally eat quite healthy — never eat fried foods, or rich fatty foods, no pastries or desserts. However, I do intake too many calories of carbs and as of the holidays, sugary calories as well. I explained this to my doctor.

    After the holidays, I’ve resumed my typical diet of non-fat sources of food, lean meats, fiberous veggies and for treats, fruit and Kashi bars. However at night, when I want a snack, I eat too many calories for my final meal. One of my favorite treats is Jello pudding made with nonfat milk after dinner.

    Combined with being mostly sedentary on the job, I’ve gained 15 lbs since October. Upon researching this product, it only works for those who consume more fat than I currently intake.

    In fact, if I followed their ([...]) 1200 calorie diet (online) I would have to modify, albiet worsen, my diet where the caloric breakdown of their site 1200cal menu would leave me with over 9% of my calories coming from fat (where I strive to stay below 6 currently) and carb intake of 50% of my calories, protein would be 18% of my calories and sugar intake would be significantly over what I normally allow for myself. My calories are roughly 30 Fat-30 carb-40 protein currently.

    Xenical doesn’t work unless you intake “fat-based calories.” I guess what I need is an appetite suppressant…despite what the doctor suggested.

    Ordered this product and never received it. Contacted Amazon’s Customer Service only to receive a standard letter and no help or assistance contacting the postal service from their end. One only had to look at the tracking information to see the product never left shipping after being logged in. Oh yea, they did offer to refund my money if I waited a certain length of time to see if the package arrived.

    Buyer Beware If Ordering From Amazon.com!
